Bar-Be-Quick was the first supplier of fair trade charcoal in the UK. It is apart of a family business and was introduced in the mid 80s. The charcoal used in Bar-Be-Quick comes from Namibia and is ethically and sustainably sourced. The majority of the charcoal makers are migrant burners who travel to Namibia once a year to burn the charcoal. They then spend the rest of their time in the bush between March to September. Basic shelter and bicycles are provided to the workers so that they may live safely.
